You Shouldn’t Go Without Health Insurance

More than 27 million Americans lack health insurance. Not all employers offer health insurance, but it’s critical workers have protection.

For injured workers, receiving quality, appropriate care can mean the difference between getting back on the job or living a life in pain with a permanent disability. At Johnson & Biscone, making sure our clients get medical treatment is just as important as ensuring benefits they are entitled to are paid in full.

If you’re not currently insured, you can turn to the federal government to find a plan that works. This year, the open enrollment period for the federal marketplace is Nov. 1 through Dec. 15. During those six weeks, anyone can go to HealthCare.gov to check out a wide variety of plans, as well as subsidies they may qualify for.

The site even offers tips on getting ready to apply.

Health insurance is often a significant expense. But having the peace of mind of knowing you’re protected in case of a work accident is invaluable — and the benefits of routine care can save money over the long term.

Johnson & Biscone encourages all working people to make health insurance a priority, because accidents and other health-related issues can strike at any time. We’ve seen many instances where an uninsured client’s claim is denied or under investigation and they’re unable to see a medical provider because they don’t have health insurance. Don’t let this happen to you!
